DISSONANCE: MOVIE CANDY PACKAGING

WHAT:Dissonance is the double feature event of the movies Soul and La La Land. “Dissonance,” the name of the event, plays off the themes of the two candy brands developed under the inspiration of these movies. Dissonance, in music, is a combination of tones that create a sense of tension or instability, but is typically used to evoke emotion. In both Soul and La La Land, music, specifically jazz, is a large part of the characters’ stories. Just as passion, fate, ambition, and purpose are common themes that tie the two together. “Tempos” and “Bittersweets” were then created to reflect those themes and aspects of the two movies each. In addition to the two brands, I wanted to create a campaign that embodied the livelihood of this event.
